Michelle’s birthday is coming soon, and I’ve started a countdown with some of her favorite things to celebrate.

When there were 13 days left until her birthday, I gave her 13 small packets of gummi bears.  Yesterday for 12 I made her a dozen chocolate covered strawberries.  Today was 11 days and I gave her 11 packets of her favorite peanut M&M’s.

I’ve got some pretty good ideas for a few of the upcoming countdown days, but I’d welcome any suggestions in the comments!

I officially left my twenties behind yesterday in a blaze of glory.  We had a great weekend with friends and family, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

We started things off on Fri evening when Michelle and I met some friends at Lucky Strike, a swank bar with a bowling alley mixed in.  It turned out to be a really nice place with fun lounge style couches everywhere and great service and pretty decent food.  I bowled pretty well but had more fun talking to our friends, neighbors and co-workers who came out to celebrate with us.

After bowling we walked down to the Wynkoop brewery where we played pool and tried Obaminator beer, which wasn’t too bad.  It was extremely crowded because the Rockies game had just ended and the bar is about 2 blocks from the stadium, but it was really fun to hang out downtown on a Friday night with some cool people.

Sat we laid pretty low, hanging out at home and then heading to Evan’s soccer game in the afternoon.  We can home, spent the afternoon lounging around, and watched some quality episodes of Lost Season 4.

Sun was my real birthday, and the kid surprised me with donuts in bed.  Then we went to Sports Authority where I got a new ski helmet so I can start jumping in the parks and pipe again more confidently, and then we had lunch, shopped around in REI, and then wrapped it up a Colorado Ski and Golf where I drooled over new Salomon Shogun and Czar skis.

The best part of the day though was playing Golf with Evan at a nice little Par 3 course nearby while Michelle and Emma ran around chasing geese, and then having a very nice dinner at P.F. Changs before coming home and watching the Amazing Race.

I got some really neat presents, gift cards from friends, a new jacket for the winter, Cirque du Soleil tickets for this Sat, hockey tickets for opening night against the Avs this Thur were some of the highlights.

I had the opportunity to shoot with Stacey and Joe from S. Pings Studio photography again a few weeks ago.  It was a beautiful, sunny, and hot day at the Denver Botanical Gardens.  It’s a great place to take photos, the scenery is amazing and there were so many places we could go.  Stacey and I got some great pictures, I hope we get to do another one soon!

I’m super excited about hockey season coming up, I think the Avs will do much better this year, since they pretty much sucked last year.  If anyone is still wondering what I would like for my birthday, Opening day for the Avs is Oct. 1, tickets can be found here.

This jacket from Salomon looks AWESOME!

Emma and I were at the park laying on the grass and looking at clouds during Evan’s soccer practice this week.

Me: “Emma, look at that cloud, I think it looks like a paw print!”
