Evan:  “How was your back to school night?  Did you tell the kids about what they can bring on their birthdays?”

Me: “I was just standing in front talking to them about their school stuff, just like your teacher did”

Evan: “Well, except my teacher wasn’t standing, he was sitting.”

She’s almost 20 months old now and she’s learning about 2-3 new words each day.  Here’s a recording of her practicing some of her new words.

“You are so hot, did you know that?

“It’s because i’ve been leaning over a hot stove.”

“No, I mean bow-chica-wow-wow hot.”

“oh.”

We first played with the Wii at Uncle Gary’s house and it was extremely fun.  Evan was bowlin 200 and lovin’ it so I told him we might get one when we come back from our Vacation.  I was watching the news online about all the shortages and how no one would have any until after christmas, so i didn’t get my hopes up.

Lo and behold, we went to Target early one day and there was one lonely Wii sitting behind the glass.  I asked the clerk and he said they just got it, and it would be gone that afternoon if I didn’t buy it now.  So we went home that day with a Wii and we’ve been bowling, playing tennis, and golfing almost every night.

It’s not like typical video games, where you just sit, get fat, and forget to blink.  The Wii is really alot of fun and the whole family really likes to play together.  Half the enjoyment is knowing how silly you look boxing with mid air and swinging at nothing.

As it’s the cheapest console out there right now, and it’s definitely the most fun, I’d say it was well worth the investment.
