I’ve been spending alot less time online lately and using the extra time to build stuff in my garage. The latest contraption is an 8 foot camera jib that will allow us to pan and fly a video camera from ground level to 12 ft high in one smooth motion. I’m looking forward to testing it this week and using it with the Video class at school.

Last weekend I found this awesome Instructable online that detailed how to make your own wood watch, so I made one of those too. It was actually pretty easy and I might make another one using a really nice grain wood.

I also spent one evening this week redesigning the website of Scott Matas who’s running for local city council. His old site was done in Frontpage and Word, and really needed some design help, and i’d been wanting to do a redesign for a while, so I gave it a shot. He liked the design and is uploading the new site right now. I’m excited about this new design because it’s 100% CSS based again, and i’m feeling alot more confident with my CSS design skills now. Hopefully i’ll start doing alot more CSS stuff soon.

Me: “Evan, do you know what’s happening tomorrow?”

Evan: “YES! It’s Valentines Day!”

Me: “Do you know what Valentines day is?”

Evan: “It’s when you give people cards.”
