I know, the suspense is killing you.
It took me long enough, but I finally have this new pretty design for JonLiu.com. It’s a new look, but the real changes are in the code.
This is the first site i’ve built entirely using CSS design. It’s one-hundred percent CSS from the images to the colors to the fonts and layout. It was quite a task to learn a whole new coding language from the bits and pieces i knew before, but I think it will make me a better web designer overall in the end.
The site design was borrowed heavily from a brilliant designer, Emotions by Mike, and the inspiration for an all CSS design came from spending way too much time on CSS Zen Garden.
I finally started using a CMS system. Now most of the content is managed using Expression Engine by PMachine. So far i’ve been very impressed with the software, and I’m planning on learning how to implement more modules like the photo gallery to replace the existing one. It’s great because Michelle can now add posts to the site too without needing to know any code.
